Abstract

The objective of this article is to learn about the discursive positionings and syndromes of the process of transformation of the body of four activists characterized with disability. For this purpose, we work with Chilean adult participants who are interviewed to explore their life history narratives. The discourse is analyzed from Systemic Functional Linguistics, particularly from the valuation model and the ideation system to account for the patterns of discursive assemblages. One of the main results corresponds to the systematic process of downloading and valuational reloading of key entities, such as the body, and the transition from external voices to own voices on the representation of one's own identity.
